Mix Subscriptions in Dante Controller
Note: Sources and destinations in Dante Via must have 'Enable Dante' checked to be visible in Dante Controller.
For mix subscriptions in Dante Controller, a receive channel is displayed for each source channel that the destination is subscribed to. This means that stereo destinations, for example, will appear in Dante Controller to have more receive channels than they actually do. The duplicated channels are blended together by Dante Via to create a stereo mix at the destination.
In the example below, the Logitech USB headset is receiving stereo audio from Skype, and stereo audio from Chrome, so four receive channels are displayed in Dante Controller.
Note: The subscription tooltips will show that the Dante Via computer (ViaTestPC4) is both the receiver (the destination, in Dante Via terminology) and transmitter (source). This is because Dante Controller treats the computer running Dante Via as one Dante device, and the subscriptions are made between channels on that one device. This is called a 'subscribe to self' subscription.
Note: Dante Controller does not provide full control for mix subscriptions - Dante Via should be used to edit the subscription instead.
For mix subscriptions that include sources from other (remote) computers, the remote source presents as an independent transmitter device in Dante Controller.
In the example below, the USB headset on the ViaTestPC4 computer is receiving stereo from Skype (on the same computer) and stereo from Safari on the Mac-Mini-2 computer.
